Read about the benefits of baby massage
Baby massage is proven to boost Oxytocin. It soothes and relaxes, doing this with your baby forms a bond, that mums with postnatal depression sometimes struggle to do. Baby massage is an excellent way to help reduce postnatal depression.
Learn techniques from a qualified instructor to naturally help aid your babies digestion, alleviate gas pains and help with colic.
If you have a baby with poor sleep habits, a good nights sleep is invaluable. Baby massage helps to relax and soothe your baby and is a great way of giving them a more restful sleep, and in turn hopefully you will get a more restful sleep.
Groups are a maximum of 5 mums, being a new mama is stressful and can be overwhelming, I have created small groups so that you don’t have to deal with added anxiety of a large group. Make some friends and spend time bonding with your baby.
Pillows are provided for baby to be comfy during classes, cushions provided for mums as well as we will be on the floor so wear comfy clothing too. During sessions some baby’s will love to be massaged and others may just want to be fed and cuddled with only a few massage stroke’s in between. This is perfectly normal, the purpose of these classes is that you can learn how to help your baby as well as for you to bond with your baby.
Since my babies are much older now, I teach and show using a doll whilst you work the strokes on your own precious baby.
Massage is suitable for baby’s with special additional needs as well, we may just go a wee bit slower so as not to overwhelm them.
It is advised to bring some of your babies favourite toys with and make sure you have milk and nappies.
Massage oil will be provided as well as a warm, clean and friendly space in the studio.
Please provide any information needed to your instructor on your booking form (which will be emailed after booking), allergies, disability or special needs, surgeries that may have recently taken place. If your baby has recently had surgery please contact your physician to ensure they are satisfied with your baby’s healing progress and that they give you all the all clear to begin baby massage classes.
